Joanne is working to improve "quality-of-life issues" for children (and others) and in many cases, actually "saving lives" of children and others, who are unknowingly and "without informed consent," being subjected every day to many forms of  EMF/EMR which is, in fact, "toxic pollution."  See:  http://library.niehs.nih.gov/consumer/toxsub.htm

She works every day to enlighten the public as to potential hazards of "close, low level, chronic, prolonged EMF/EMR exposures," particularly at night when circadian rhythm is, or should be restored.  Since our bodies depend upon the release of melatonin by the pineal gland in the brain AND since electromagnetic radiation reduces one's ability to produce melatonin (a powerful antioxidant, anti-aging supplement, sleep aid and cancer-fighter), it is essential to provide distance between beds and electrical appliances, electric and gas meters, some telephone equipment -- particularly transformer boxes for cordless phones and electronic games, etc., cell phone chargers and more.   These preventative measures are important for persons of every age but are "vital" when it comes to protecting children who are even more vulnerable due to developing cells.  Reducing EMF/EMR "toxic exposures" may prevent health problems all the way from poor sleep to cancer and should greatly reduce increases in autism, ADD, ADHD, learning disorders as well as Alzheimers and other neurodegenerative diseases.  Symptoms such as asthma, sinus infections, chronic ear infections, chronic headaches, depression, chronic fatigue, GERD, etc. may dramatically improve or completely disappear.

Studies not funded by industries, organizations and government officials/departments and not biased due to "conflict-of-interest issues," are urgently needed to sort out causation of health problems due to sleeping close to electric and telephone equipment, as well as cell phones, etc. and connections to the more distant EMF/EMR exposures such as high voltage transmission lines, cellular antennae, WiFi, radio towers, radar stations, etc.    In many instances, proper reviews of existing, "inconclusive studies" will yield important facts.
